Canadian Solar makes some of the highest quality solar modules on the market today and we want to hear how you have used our modules to build installations bringing solar energy to businesses and homes across the country. Entries will be judged on engineering skill, environmental impact, creativity, and aesthetics. Four Honorable Mentions will also be selected and each will receive a $500 cash prize. All questions must be answered to be eligible to win. The contest runs until Sept 30, 2010. Winners will be announced Oct. 12, 2010. Let’s get started!

Official Contest Rules

Enter a description of your installed solar system and a beauty shot of your work in high resolution (300dpi).
TTo be eligible, entries of PV projects must have been installed with Canadian Solar products, and they must be completed and received on or by the closing date of the contest, Sept. 30, 2010. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. All entries shall become the property of Canadian Solar Inc™. Canadian Solar Inc.™ is not responsible for lost, misdirected or delayed entries. Entries received by telephone, fax, courier or personal delivery will not be accepted.
CONTEST RULES:
1. The contest is open to legal residents of the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico and Rhode Island) and Canada who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. VOID IN PUERTO RICO, RHODE ISLAND AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW OR REGULATION.
2. Employees of Canadian Solar Inc. or its affiliates, its advertising and promotional agencies and their respective affiliates and associates and such employees' immediate family members and persons with whom such employees are domiciled are excluded from this contest.
3. Entrants must send entries by email by Sept. 30, 2010 using the correct contest entry form available on the Canadian Solar website: www.canadian-solar.com/en/WIN. Limit one entry per project/installation.
4. Entrants agree that Canadian Solar Inc. or its affiliates shall not be liable for injury, losses, damages, or costs of any kind resulting from participation in this contest or acceptance of or use or misuse of a prize.
5. Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize: $3,000; Four (4) Honorable Mentions: $500 each. Value of prize is the stated cash amount and must be accepted as awarded. Winners are solely responsible for all taxes and/or fees that may be incurred. Canadian Solar Inc. or its affiliates shall not be liable for injury, losses, damages, or costs of any kind resulting from participation in this contest or acceptance of or use or misuse of a prize or parts thereof.
6. All decisions of the judges are final. Final judges: Mike Miskovsky, U.S. General Manager, Canadian Solar Inc, Stephen Smith, Founder, Solvida Energy Consulting, and Roy Phillips, President of REP Energy, Inc.
7. Canadian Solar will announce award winners at Solar Power International on or around October 12, 2010. Winners will be contacted at the “sender” email address used to enter the contest. Claiming of prizes requires an email response to Canadian Solar from the winning sender email address within 15 days of being notified of winning. Failure to respond shall mean that the winner forfeits the prize. Canadian Solar is not required to award to any other party any prizes forfeited by the chosen winner(s). Claimed prizes will be mailed to the winners at the address listed on the contest entry form.
8. Winner must sign a Canadian Solar release form acknowledging his/her acceptance and understanding of all contest rules. Winner must supply Canadian Solar with his/her legal name, mailing address, birth date, social security number and daytime telephone number, and must verify proper and legal picture identification within 30 days of notification of winning the cash prize. Winner forfeits any and all cash winnings if verification cannot or has not been made within 30 days.
9. By submitting a photo and information to Canadian Solar Inc., you hereby grant to Canadian Solar Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns, an irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted photo or other information in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created, throughout the world and for any purpose. In addition to other things, the rights granted to Canadian Solar Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns include but are not limited to the right to resize, crop, censor, compress, edit, feature, caption, affix logos to, and otherwise alter or make use of the submitted photo.
10. By submitting any photo or information to Canadian Solar Inc., you hereby represent and warrant that the submitted photo or information does not and shall not infringe on any copyright, any rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party, and you have the right to grant any and all rights and licenses granted to Canadian Solar Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns herein, including but not limited to all necessary rights under copyright, free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.
11. You acknowledge and agree that Canadian Solar Inc. or its affiliates shall have no obligation to post, display or otherwise make publicly available any photo or information submitted by you, and may, in its sole and unfettered discretion, remove, edit, modify or delete any photo or information that you submit to Canadian Solar Inc.
12. You hereby agree to hold Canadian Solar Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees, sponsors and assigns harmless from and against, and hereby waive any right to pursue, any claims of any nature arising in connection with the inclusion in, publication via or display on any Canadian Solar site, or any other use authorized under these terms, of any photo or information submitted to Canadian Solar by you.
13. Photos or information submitted by you to Canadian Solar Inc. or its affiliates shall become the property of Canadian Solar., and Canadian Solar shall have no obligation to preserve, return or otherwise make available to you or others any photos or information so submitted..

15. This contest is subject to all federal, state, provincial and municipal laws.
